To provide a highly specialist speech & language therapy service to adult critical care at the RVI alongside a co-worker. Use of available FEES and VF. to support the development of less experienced speech & language therapists

Main duties of the job
- Assessment and diagnosis of complex swallowing and communication problems for patients in critical care.
- Care planning and setting treatment goals.
- Regular use of instrumental assessment of swallowing

- Recognised Speech and Language Therapy degree qualification or equivalent
- Health & Care Professions Council - Licence to Practice
- Dysphagia training to intermediate level Qualified to perform and analyse FEES
- Evidence of successful completion of specialist short courses - MSc equivalent
Desirable
- MSc in relevant advanced clinical practice
Knowledge & Experience
Essential
- Substantial experience working with patients with acquired neurological disorders in an acute setting
- Substantial experience working with elderly people
- Multidisciplinary team experience
- Experience in supervising more junior SLTs
- Experience in teaching other professionals
