Job summary

The Pharmacy Department are looking for 2 x clerical officers to join the Homecare team. As a clerical officer you will work alongside a team of experienced technical, professional and homecare administration staff to ensure that patients receive deliveries of medicines to their homes.

The right candidates will need to be methodical, focused, flexible and committed to maintaining patient confidentiality, whilst working in a busy office environment.

Main duties of the job

Your main role will be to carry out the necessary procedures relating to the purchasing, receipt, charging and invoicing of all the commercial home delivery medicines and associated sundries on a daily basis for the Trust.

Full training will be given to the successful candidates to develop their knowledge of the pharmacy computer system with the aim of gaining specialist expertise in the use of the purchasing, reporting, contract and stock control programmes, dispensing software and manufacturing and trading accounts.

SKILLS

  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • Demonstration of being a team player and of working alone
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Demonstrate keyboard skills including ability to carry word processing and production of spreadsheets and database

EXPERIENCE

  • Previous experience in the NHS
