Job summary

The department is excited to be able to offer the opportunity for a reliable, enthusiastic, hardworking Clinical Support Worker to join our team. You will work alongside Audiologists and other members of the team to support paediatric hearing assessments at the Freeman Hospital and other outlying clinics. You may be required to support other clinical work as required. You will also carry out general housekeeping and administrative tasks. You should be able to integrate well with the existing team, be flexible in supporting the needs of the service and have a genuine desire to contribute to providing a quality service for patients.

As our Department provides a comprehensive Audiology and Hearing Aid service to the whole of the North of Tyne area you will be expected to transport yourself across the locality when required. A driving licence and access to a car, or the ability to drive, is highly desirable.

Main duties of the job

  • A substantial part of the role will be to act as a Clinical Assistant in paediatric hearing assessments and other specialist clinics as required.
  • This post is suitable for individuals who wish to work in the Audiology Department.
  • The post holder is expected to work closely with Audiologists, Assistant Audiologist and admin staff within the clinical environment, and demonstrate the ability to develop practical and anticipatory skills confidently in an acute and dynamic environment.
  • All staff are actively supported with their ongoing education and development within the limits of their own personal ambition and potential to meet service needs.
