About the team and department;
The Newcastle Hospitals 'national award winning' e-Rostering team is well-established and operates within the Human Resources Directorate based at Regent Point in Gosforth. Weprovide support and management of the Trust's e-Rostering system and its users. We aid users to roster effectively and efficiently and ensure that the right staff, are in the right place, at the right time - supporting our workforce in the delivery of high quality, safe patient care. The role gives you an opportunity to lead a highly motivated and friendly team who are continually adapting to provide first class customer service.

Main duties of the job
What will the role entail?
Your key tasks will be to lead in the management, development and delivery of the e-Rostering service for The Newcastle Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. You will be an integral part of the e-Rostering, People Systems and data team and the wider Staff Engagement leadership team; overseeing the day to day management of the e-Rostering team and delivering new system functionality across the Trust. You will be expected to maintain close working relationships with Department and Ward Managers, as well as the Senior Nursing Management, HR Recruitment, Workforce Information and Temporary Staffing teams.
There is a strong focus on utilising workforce systems and its data to support recruitment, retention and deployment strategy.
Who are we looking for?
You will need previous leadership and project management experience and be someone who is a highly motivated individual with proven leadership capabilities and a strong drive for success. You will possess highly developed communication skills, and have excellent engagement and interpersonal skills to develop positive working relationships and sound knowledge of service improvement. You will also need to be highly competent in the use of IT systems including Microsoft applications. Experience of using e-rostering systems would be advantageous but not essential.

Job Purpose
- Responsible for the overall management and successful delivery of the Electronic Rostering & Attendance (ERA) system to the required quality and standard. The System Manager will be responsible for management of the ERA system with a significant focus on change management and service modernisation.
- The post requires close working with suppliers, clinicians and health professionals to ensure anticipated are fully realised including the provision of staff information reporting
- Work alongside relevant stakeholders to develop reports, tools and detection processes to reduce fraud and improve system audit
- Direct and effective management of the ERA system as required within time, cost and quality parameters.
