An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Breast Reconstruction Nursing team as a part time Band 6 Specialist Nurse .
The successful candidate will work within a committed and enthusiastic team to deliver high quality patient centred care to breast reconstruction patients.
The role will involve providing specialist advice in nurse led clinics, carrying out assessments and the opportunity to develop role specific specialist nursing skills. The post holder with also contribute to the development and implementation of clinical audit and research activity

Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will act as the patients advocate, offering specialised information, education and psychological support to patients diagnosed with breast cancer and those exploring risk reducing surgery due to gene mutation.
Main duties will include nurse led assessment clinics and working closely along side Plastic and Oncoplastic Surgeons in specialised clinics . You will need to display expert communication skills and offer care in a kind and compassionate manner.
Patients will be seen in both in patient and out patient settings and involvement in the monthly Breast Reconstruction Support Group is expected.
Opportunities will also be available for training in seroma aspiration, micropigmentation of nipple and areola complex and implant tissue expansion.
