Job summary
Due to increase in demand for service an opportunity has arisen to join IT Infrastructure as a Senior IT Officer in the Data Centre Technical team. The team is responsible for delivering and maintaining of a wide range of data centre technologies critical to the running of the Trust. These include SAN storage, a large VMware estate, data centre networking, enterprise scale backup and a blade infrastructure.

Main duties of the job
As an experienced IT professional, you will work within the Data Centre Technical team and wider IT Infrastructure team. This will be predominately with the End User Computing, Network and SQL Database Administrators however you will also work with specialist IT teams supporting specific areas of the Trust.
Working within a high performing team you will be required to take an active role in future design workshops, production of technical roadmaps, tendering exercises, evaluation of new technologies and proof of concepts. The role also works closely with third party and in house subject matter experts to provide 3rd / 4th line support.
The Trust has a wide range of technologies and two purpose built data centres which you will be actively involved in the management, maintenance, and development of, these include:
- 1.8PB of NVME flash storage
- Cloud technologies including Azure
- 70 ESXi hosts supporting over 1,000 virtual machines
- ACI multi pod data centre networking
- DELL and UCS blade infrastructure
