The ENT Outpatient Department (EPOD) in Freeman Hospital has a full time permanent post vacancy. Join our established nursing team and further develop your leadership skills.
ENT services are diverse and delivered via routine and specialised clinics at Freeman Hospital as well as many outreach clinics throughout the region. The Urgent Referral clinic runs daily, delivering day treatment for certain conditions and the nursing team work very closely with other AHPs to deliver appropriate care.
Main duties of the job
In this band 6 role you will be expected to undertake a supportive role for the band 7 Sister / Charge nurse and deputise in their absence, affording leadership to staff, patients and carers.
Using the necessary tools you will oversee the best standards of care and provision of safety for the patients, whilst acting as a role model / teacher for junior staff and students.
To facilitate the above you need to have excellent communication skills, leadership qualities and organisational ability.

- Act as role model, teacher and supervisor for junior staff and students.
- Ensure systems are in place to provide the continuity of safe effective care for patients at all times. Effective member of the multi-disciplinary team

- Current NMC / HCPC registration
- Diploma in a health related subject, prepared to take degree level study
- Specialist qualification if relevant to role or previous experience
