Job summary

Are you an interpersonal, well organised and articulate individual who could step into an established role taking over the day to day responsibilities for a team that offers so much more than administration support! We co-ordinate many aspects of training and delivery as well as supporting the efficient running of our education facilities within Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

You will display a confident and cooperative approach, with positive interpersonal skills when communicating with team members, HR colleagues, and the wide range of staff at all levels representing the diverse workforce within the Trust. You will also be responsible for liaising with trust colleagues to agree support in the co-facilitation of learning events, as appropriate to their area of expertise, as required for the effective delivery of the annual training programme and ad-hoc training events. You will work positively with team members discussing workable options to achieve satisfactory education outcomes in the absence of the Senior Workforce Development Officer, on an ad-hoc basis.

Main duties of the job

  • Knowledge and understanding of anti-discriminatory practice within education contexts
  • Competent in the use and application of Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
  • Effective, high quality interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate within the Trust and in external organisations
  • Previous experience of working within and educational environment.
  • High standard of general education, excellent standard of literacy and numeracy.
  • Teaching qualification to degree level (cert ed/DTTLS) or relevant equivalent experience
  • Ability to manage time effectively and work under pressure to deliver a high quality training service, which covers a diverse range of subjects to staff working within all disciplines in the Trust.

  • To support and co-ordinate the preparation and delivery of training requirements and programme information for Trust corporate induction on a weekly basis. Support delivery of mandatory training including conflict resolution and equality and diversity.
  • Work to support delivery of Trust Workforce Strategy under the direction of the Senior Workforce Development Officer and Workforce Development Manager.
  • Develop and deliver a range of high quality and innovative HR training / specialist education and development services (specialist advice, guidance, formal training and workshop facilitation) that are responsive to the changing learning needs identified at corporate, departmental and individual levels.
  • Support the development of Trust staff in effective leadership, management and personal effectiveness skills, business objectives, supporting organisational development resulting from the Trust Workforce Strategy, service developments and other Trust and National initiatives.
  • To proactively provide information, advice and guidance to ensure that the education needs of a multi-disciplinary team are met effectively at departmental and leaner level.
