Job summary

We are looking to recruit full and part time Band 3 Patient Navigators to manage the Urgent Treatment Centre ledgers, monitor the flow of patients into the system and report any issues.

The post will support all 3 Urgent Treatment Centres based at Ponteland Road, Molineux Centre and Westgate.

The actual hours of the role will be discussed at interview as the Urgent Treatment Centres are open daily from 8.00am until 10.00pm, 7 days a week.

We are also looking for a part time (15 hour) Patient Navigator to work within the Single Point of Access team basedwithin the Single Point of access team working alongside the Community Adult Nursing Teams based at Regent Point.

We are looking for reliable and flexible individuals to support the service. The actual hours of the post will be discussed at interview as the admin team work daily 8am to 10pm 7 days a week.

Main duties of the job

  • Manage own workload on a day-to-day basis and work independently.
  • Manages any concerns surrounding extended access raised by the administration team and escalates appropriately
  • Maintain confidentiality within the team at all times when dealing with sensitive issues, relating to patients or to their partners using discretion and initiative.
  • Identify own training needs; with own annual IDR and PDP.
  • Supervise, train, develop and support other clerical staff
  • Responsible for the efficient and effective administrative support to the Admin Team Lead and clinical staff
  • Work closely with the UTC Nursing team leads and the daily clinical coordinator
  • Work as part of the Urgent and Emergency Care Alliance

  • Good standard of education (GSCE standard or equivalent)

Knowledge & Experience

  • Experience of data inputting and assisting with audits
  • Experience of dealing with patients, public and other health care staff
  • Experience of working within a health care administrative setting.
  • Experience of working with information technology.
  • Understanding of confidentiality issues
