Job summary
The Legal & Committee Services Department is seeking to recruit an experienced and dynamic individual for the position of Deputy Legal Services Manager (Band 6) on a permanent contract.
The successful candidate will work closely with and deputise for the Legal & Committee Services Lead/Head of Legal Services in their absence, in the day to day management of litigation, Inquests and providing legal advice across the Trust on a wide range of issues.

Main duties of the job
You will be required to assist with clinical negligence and personal injury claims to ensure that they are managed in accordance with Civil Procedure Rules and NHS Resolution requirements.
You will be required to assist on the management of Inquests, this will include liaising with Clinicians to obtain reports for the Coroner as well as supporting witnesses at the Inquest hearing. Therefore an understanding of Coronial law/procedure is essential. You will also be required to assist with the high level committee working including taking minutes.
The successful candidate must be educated to post graduate diploma level or possess experience with knowledge and understanding of Coronial Inquest processes and NHS Resolution claims management. You must have strong communication skills including the ability to communicate both complex and sensitive information to a wide range of people.
The successful candidate will need to demonstrate the ability to manage and prioritise work streams and have the capability to balance competing priorities and meet strict deadlines.
