Speciality Doctor in Rehabilitation Psychiatry and Neuropsychiatry

Job summary
The post holder will be responsible for supporting a consultant psychiatrist within the Rehabilitation Psychiatry and another consultant psychiatrist within the Neuropsychiatry of Huntingtons Disease inpatient units. It is expected that the post holder will undertake day-to-day management of psychiatric health problems within both inpatient settings under supervisions of two consultant psychiatrists.
The core responsibilities will be therefore to assist the consultants and other medical and MDT members in the assessment and treatment of patients on both wards. Regular weekly supervision slots will be provided from the two corresponding consultants who also cross cover each other during annual leaves.
There is additional cross cover arrangement by another consultant colleague, Dr Ashish Arora, who can also provide supervision if and when required i.e. when Dr Singh and Dr Kiani are both on leave.
Main duties of the job
A formal job plan will be agreed between the appointee and the supervising consultants within three months after the commencement date of the post holder.
The job plan will then be reviewed annually, following an appraisal meeting or more frequently when there are changes in regard to the pre-agreed workload. The job plan will be a prospective agreement that sets out a Specialty Doctors duties, responsibilities and objectives for the forthcoming year.
