Job summary
Funded Postgraduate Diploma: Specialist Community Public Health Nursing (SCPHN) Health Visitor or School Nurse Make a difference to children, young people and families.
We are seeking enthusiastic and innovative Nurses or Midwives to join a forward thinking service that promotes integrated working with partner agencies to improve outcomes for children and families.
Eligibility criteria:
Current first level registration on the NMC Nursing or Midwifery Register Undergraduate honours degree (1st or 2:1), or evidence of recent Level 7 study Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (reasonable adjustments will be made in line with the Equality Act) Successful applicants will be employed on a fixed term LPT contract for the duration of the programme (September 2026 to September 2027). During training, salary will be paid in line with Agenda for Change Band 6, Annex 21 terms.
Applicants are advised to review Annex 21 pay arrangements before applying. Interviews will take place at the University of Northampton on Monday 11 May 2026. The day will include assessment tasks requiring a pass threshold, followed by an interview if successful. Candidates must be available for the full day (08:3017:00).

Main duties of the job
As a Student Health visitor or School Nurse you would be working with Healthy Together to deliver a 0-11 service in Leicestershire County and Rutland and a 0-19 service in Leicester city.
Clinical placements will be across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland, supported by a Practice Supervisor & Assessor. You will experience both city and county placements.
Academic study will be undertaken at the University of Northampton and there will be a balance of theory and practice learning opportunities.
If you wish to be considered, you are required to apply to LPT for sponsorship, and secure a place by application to the University separately.
LPT where possible aims to recruit SCPHN students to permanent posts within Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland on the successful completion of the course.
