The Liaison and Diversion service have an exciting opportunity for a support time recovery worker to join our growing team. The Liaison and Diversion service is an all-vulnerability service that operates from police custody, the courts and within various community settings. The Liaison and Diversion service aims to aims to provide early intervention for vulnerable people as they come to the attention of the criminal justice system. Liaison and Diversion Services are intended to improve the health and criminal justice outcomes for adults and children who come into contact with the Criminal Justice System; where a range of complex needs are identified as factors in their offending behaviour.
Liaison and Diversion Services will ensure that these individuals can access appropriate interventions in order to reduce health inequalities, improve physical and mental health, tackle offending behaviour including substance misuse, reduce crime and re-offending, and increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the Criminal Justice System.
As a support time recovery worker for the Liaison and Diversion service you will be working with both adults and young people- helping to identify vulnerabilities through completion of screening assessments and collaboratively identifying and supporting with signposting.
Main duties of the job
Under the supervision of a Band 6 registered practitioner- to undertake screening assessments with service users to support the identification of vulnerabilities/unmet needs.
To complete onward referrals to support services.
To liaise with key stakeholders within the criminal justice system including police/custody staff, court staff, probation staff.
To actively participate in the development of core vulnerability support pathways.
To collaboratively develop community support plans with service users and their families/carers.
