If you have answered yes to those questions, we want to hear from you as we have exciting opportunities to work as a Health Care Assistant within our Urgent Care Emergency Access Pathway services based at the Bradgate Mental Health Unit.
Service Overview
We are a nursing led service and we care for patients in mental health crisis across our three services; Mental Health Urgent Care Hub (MHUCH), Mental Health Response Vehicle (MHRV) and Place of Safety Unit (PSAU). We operate a 24 hour service across the 7 days of the week including bank holidays.
MHUCH and PSAU operating hours 08:00am to 20:30pm Long days; 20:00pm to 08:30am night shift. MHRV operating hours 12:00pm to 00:30am

Main duties of the job
The role of a Health Care Assistant in Mental Health Care is a privileged role, you will provide, care for patients at their most vulnerable during a mental health crisis where patients may have a history of trauma, psychological challenges, and neurodiversity. You will work along side other secondary mental health services, primary care services as well charitable organisations. You will take referrals via telephone from professional referral services, complete patient's vital signs escalating any concerns to Mental Health Practitioners, supporting patients with psychological and emotional distress in a therapeutic environment. There will be opportunity to up skilling to complete Electro Cardiograph (ECG) and Venepuncture training. this role included driving to patients location either in your own car or in the Mental Health Response Vehicle van for an assessment of their mental health crisis. The role also includes nursing patients at the Place of Safety Assessment Unit who are brought in under Section 136 and/or S135 (1) of the Mental Health Act 1983 (amended in 2007).
Mandatory requirement for this role:
Minimum of 12 months care experience
In receipt of the Care Certificate
Full Driving licence with a drivable car including business insurance.
