Band 5 Nurse - Adult Eating Disorders Inpatient
The closing date is 08 February 2026
Job summary
Welford (ED) Ward is a 15 bedded specialist eating disorder unit providing care for people with severe anorexia nervosa from across the East Midlands. We are seeking a motivated, experienced and conscientious Band 5 Nurse to cover maternity leave and become an integral part of our well established, supportive team. You will work closely with Band 5 and 6 Nurses, Health Care Support Workers, the Ward Manager and Team Managers to deliver safe, effective and patient-led care. The post is based at Glenfield Hospital within the Bennion Centre. We operate a two shift system across a 24/7 service, and applicants should be able to work a rotating pattern, although some flexibility may be considered depending on service needs. We welcome visits from anyone interested in the role. Please contact Jacy Cottingham or Nicola Brewin to arrange this. A recent patient described the ward as a place of safety where people understood what I was going through and didn't judge me. Staff listened, supported and genuinely cared. They helped me understand myself, believe I deserved happiness, and showed that living beyond my illness was possible and worth fighting for. They gave me moments of calm from the chaos of my mind and, most importantly, they gave me back my life and hope.
