Community Health Services AHP Lead

Job summary
We are seeking an experienced AHP lead with a strong understanding of community services and inpatient services, 37.5 or 30 hours per week.
Reporting directly to the Head of Nursing, AHP & Quality you will provide leadership and strategic direction for AHPs, developing and implementing standards across the Community Health Services (CHS) directorate which support professional development, competence and safe standards leading to high quality, efficient patient care.
You will provide senior leadership, clinical experience / expertise and support to Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Podiatrists, Speech and Language Therapists and AHP Support Staff.
You will be responsible for horizon scanning national / local / system policy, legislation etc. relevant to AHP practice to ensure preparedness for and implementation of any required developments / changes.
You will work with the CHS Head of Nursing, LPT AHP & Quality, Associate Director for AHPs & Quality and AHP leads from Mental Health, LD and children's directorates on clinical and professional quality and safety improvements.
You will work as part of the senior clinical team within CHS to support the wider clinical governance agenda and ensure AHPs are represented in and contribute to all aspects of clinical quality and safety.
You will be responsible for ensuring that key external relationships are maintained and developed with other partners in the health and social care community in delivering system-wide objectives.
Main duties of the job
- To be a role model across all Allied Health Professionals.
- To provide senior leadership across the Community Health Services directorate for physiotherapists, occupational therapist, podiatrists, speech and language therapists and unregistered support staff.
- To work as part of the senior team contributing to clinical quality, safety and governance across the directorate.
- To play a pivotal role in system wide AHP initiatives relevant to CHS.
- To ensure key relationships with external stakeholders are maintained and developed.
- To lead on the AHP workforce planning and improvement initiatives.
