We have an exciting opportunity for a forward thinking and experienced Occupational Therapy Assistant to join the Community Enhanced Rehabilitation Team (CERT). CERT is a now established community rehab team within the enhanced rehabilitation and recovery pathway. Comprising of a multi-disciplinary team, CERT provides transitional support and Mental Health Rehabilitation focused interventions in the community for adults with severe and enduring mental health difficulties. We have an new vacancy for an experienced, competent and confident Band 3 Mental Health Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our friendly and supportive team.
You will work within an MDT team with alongside B6 Occupational Therapists and 2 other Band 3 Occupational Therapy Assistants, CPNs, Psychologists, Support Workers, Psychiatrist and a Social Worker to provide ongoing appropriate Occupational Therapy assessments and interventions to our patients their needs using approaches of:-functional, psycho-social, cognitive, sensory, physical health We work within a recovery approach, undertaking collaborative interventions with service users, families and wider networks within the community.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will demonstrate LPTs Leadership behaviours on a daily basis. You must be good at building rapport and working with others to support their recovery journey. You will have strong engagement and motivational skills and be flexible in working with patients with complex mental health needs during their recovery pathway.
The team support the patient journey of recovery from inpatient to community settings. Effective written and verbal communication skills are essential as you will be an integral part of the MDT informing recovery progress and providing comprehensive OT assessment as required. You will support the Occupational Therapy team to provide specialist Occupational Therapy services to people in the community on the Mental Health Rehabilitation pathway and contribute to the delivery and development of the Community Enhanced Rehabilitation Team pathway. The post holder will work with the MDT to facilitate optimum occupational wellbeing and will be able to demonstrate skills and have knowledge of severe and complex mental health issues in adults.
This role involves autonomous working with services users in the community so 1: 1 experience of supporting this client group is essential aswell as additional knowledge such as: - Sensory Integration/Processing. - Challenging Behaviour/PSB - ASD - Dual diagnosis -Complex Physical Health needs.
