An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic Administration Assistant to join our Melton Community Mental Health Team within the Directorate of Mental Health. The Melton CMHT provide a service to people experiencing mental health difficulties. As an Administration Assistant you will be required to work within a multi-disciplinary team.
This is a full-time role, working 09:00am-17:00pm, Monday to Friday based at Melton Community Hospital.
The role is office based therefore you will be working within an outpatient environment and will have regular telephone interaction with service users and their families. The ideal candidate will be an excellent team player with the ability to work on their own and in a team, hardworking, empathetic and a desire to provide excellent patient care and able to demonstrate our values of Compassion, Trust, Respect and Integrity.
This is a diverse role where you will be working in a fast-paced environment as part of a welcoming team who work well together and support each other. We work collaboratively with Psychiatrists, Community Psychiatric Nurses, Social Workers, OTs and various other disciplines offering collective support and knowledge to enable you to do your role.
Main duties of the job

As an Administration Assistant you will be the first point of contact for telephone enquiries from patients and referrers and you will provide high quality, responsive and co-ordinated administrative support to the Community Mental Health Team.
You will be working proactively as part of the wider administrative and clinical teams including other services within the directorate of Mental Health and Clinical and Medical Staff to ensure that a high quality, resource-efficient and cost-effective service is provided to the community services throughout Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland:. You will be processing referrals, data inputting, supporting the wider teams as per service needs and other general administration duties. For this you will require good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, excellent IT skills and highly organised with good planning skills.
The role includes telephone and written correspondence with patients, Service Users, liaising with family members/carers, GPs and other primary care services, other external NHS services or partner agencies, such as Social Care and the Police. You will need good written and verbal communication skills and the ability to liaise with service users in a calm and compassionate manner.
