Job summary
We have an opportunity for a specialist Occupational Therapist (OT) or Physiotherapist to join the Community Integrated Neurology Stroke Service (CINSS) within LPT.
CINSS is a multidisciplinary community team comprised of physios, OTs, dietitians, psychologists, a neurorehabilitation consultant and technical instructors providing specialist rehabilitation and support to patients with neurological conditions and strokes. Services are provided from a range of outpatient bases and in patients' own homes.
This role will provide clinical and day to day leadership to the priority response team who work with patients who cannot wait for a routine appointment. This may include patients with urgent equipment needs, those who have had a stroke without hospital admission, and those with deteriorating neurological conditions such as MND.
We are looking for someone with specialist clinical skills and experience of working in stroke and/or neurology. Experience of working in the community would be desirable.
You would have responsibility for supporting and supervising the B6 OTs and physios working in the priority response team, with support from the service leads.
You will have access to a wide range of training, support and supervision.
The team's hub is at Braunstone Health and Social Care Centre with bases in Loughborough, Hinckley, Market Harborough and Melton Mowbray. The base for this role will be negotiated with the successful candidate alongside working hours and pattern.
Main duties of the job
- To provide effective management and clinical leadership of the CINSS priority response team across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.
- The post holder will have specialist knowledge and experience, and act as the expert for the multi-agency team and for patients within the relevant field.
- High level communication skills and negotiation are necessary for delivering highly complex clinical information to support both patients and staff.
- To actively participate and lead in the development of quality improvements for service delivery.
- The post holder will have in depth experience and have attended formal advanced post registration study related to Physiotherapy/Occupational Therapy.
- To deputise for the Clinical/Service Lead as appropriate.
- The post holder will be responsible for holding their own caseload and supporting other members of the team with caseload management responsibilities.
- The postholder will be responsible for line management of the team.
- To work flexibly within the team, which may include supporting CINSS clinical pathways dependent on service needs.
