Physiotherapy Lead

Job summary

An opportunity has arisen for a highly experienced and enthusiastic physiotherapist team lead to become part of and lead an effective team, providing a high standard of clinical care to patients.

You will manage a team of therapists and support workers to collectively deliver a high-quality rehabilitation service to our patients. While the base will be at Melton Hospital you will also be supporting across Rutland Memorial Hospital and St Lukes Hospital in Market Harborough.

You will be working in a role to develop staff and the workforce to aid excellent patient care, to ensure standards are met and ensure evidenced based therapy is delivered.

The successful candidate will:

  • Hold a BSc/MSc in Physiotherapy.
  • Be registered with the HCPC.
  • Have relevant NHS experience either pre or post qualification.
  • Have clinical expertise, knowledge and experience in the field of Physiotherapy.
  • Have excellent communication skills.
  • Have excellent leadership skills.
  • Have evidence of continuing professional development.
  • Be able to be flexible to meet the needs of the service.

The Trust is progressing toward a seven day week working pattern; consequently the post holder must be prepared to work the weekly contracted hours over a 7 day rotation in accordance with the needs of the service.

UK driving licence and access to a car is essential.

Main duties of the job

  • Can work sensitively and effectively with patients and their carers.
  • To provide effective leadership to the therapy and MDT team.
  • Be able to work well both individually and as part of the multi-disciplinary team.
  • To be able to offer supportive education to staff members of all grades.
  • To review current evidence and implement service wide.
  • To have a flexible and adaptive approach of teaching to suit individual needs.
  • Be able to carry out moderate to intense physical effort throughout the working day.
