We are looking for a Dietetic Support Worker to assist our friendly team in providing services to this group of patients and their families, throughout Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be involved in varied duties, both office-based, and in patients homes and other settings.

The role has a strong focus on patient contact and monitoring along with providing training for individuals and groups on enteral nutrition and the equipment used in a variety of locations (home, day care, care homes, hospital, school).The role also supports patients by troubleshooting and supporting with equipment queries.

Office-based duties will include record keeping, data input, monitoring equipment requirements and supplies, and liaising with the companies responsible for delivery of equipment to patients homes as well as some administration support.

The postholder will work alongside and be supported by the Dietitians working in the service as well as Dietetic Assistant Practitioners, Dietetic Support Workers and administrative staff.

The successful candidate will need excellent team-working, communication, organisational and IT skills, along with a passion for working with patients, relatives, carers and other professionals to provide high quality care.

Previous experience of working with patients in a caring, healthcare-related field is desirable for this post. Experience of enteral tube feeding is beneficial, but not essential.

The post will be based in the Leicestershire Nutrition and Dietetic Service Headquarters, close to the M1/M69 junction. You will need to be a car driver, and be willing to use your car during the working day.
