We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 3 Health Care Assistant within our Adult Community Mental Health Team, specifically working with older people in the Mental Health for Older People (MHSOP) team.

This role is based within the Charnwood Community Mental Health Team at Loughborough Hospital. It is a full-time role working Monday-Friday 9-5pm. We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual with a passion for providing high-quality care to older people.

The successful candidate will demonstrate our Trust values through their everyday work, providing the best care possible to our service users. You will be working in a team that fosters a collaborative, multi-disciplinary approach, with close links to GPs, community health services, other mental health services, and social services.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will be supporting clients/service users in maintaining their health and wellbeing, undertaking specified and delegated clinical and therapeutic activities under the supervision of healthcare professionals, in addition to assisting the healthcare team with the planning, organising and provision of clinical care.

The post holder will also be tasked with ensuring high standards are maintained in a safe environment, which promotes equality and sensitivity for all individuals, assisting Registered Professionals in the implementation and evaluation of individualised care plans and accurately recording patient information, providing support and supervision to other colleagues and learners as appropriate.

Our Health Care Support Workers are valued members of the team, and we will expect you to; Work alongside your team members to contribute to the assessment, implementation, and evaluation of care. Work under indirect supervision of qualified professionals Carry out delegated tasks as identified by the qualified professionals in the care plan.

Support patients to maintain their health and well-being and support their carers Undertake specified and delegated clinical and therapeutic activities Ideally be ECG and phlebotomy trained or be willing to undertake these courses.
