Job summary
We are seeking an experienced, visionary leader to join our Trust as Head of Community Health Services (CHS). This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering high-quality care for adults and older people across our community services.
Reporting to the Deputy Director of CHS and working closely with senior clinical and operational leaders, you will provide strategic and operational leadership across a diverse portfolio of services. These include:
- Adult community bed-based services (rehabilitation, sub-acute step down and end-of-life care across 222 inpatient beds in eight community hospitals)
- Adult community and specialist services (nursing, therapies, podiatry, MSK, heart failure, respiratory, palliative and end-of-life care, stroke, and neurological services)
About you -
We are looking for a strong, dynamic leader with a proven track record in senior operational management and service transformation.
You will bring -
- Educated to degree level (or equivalent experience), with advanced management training or qualifications.
- Significant experience of leading large, complex healthcare services.
- Expertise in service transformation, business planning, and financial management.
- Exceptional interpersonal, influencing, and communication skills.
- The ability to lead high-performing teams and work collaboratively across organisational boundaries.
- Flexibility to work across multiple sites (own transport required).
Main duties of the job
- Lead and oversee the delivery of safe, effective, and compassionate services across CHS.
- Drive ambitious transformation and improvement programmes aligned to Trust strategy.
- Ensure compliance with CQC standards, clinical governance, and best practice models.
- Provide visible leadership to staff, fostering a culture of inclusivity, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Manage performance and budgets, ensuring effective use of resources.
- Represent the Trust at system-wide, local, and national forums.
