2 Vacancies Due to the transformation of our Mental Health Services
Band 6 Community Occupational Therapists to join our lovely team within Mental Health Services for Older People, part of LPTs Directorate of Mental Health.
We are looking for people who share our passion for working with patients over the age of 65 with functional and/or organic mental health conditions.
We also work with patients under the age of 65 alongside our Young Onset Dementia Service to support their valuable diagnostic work. We work alongside our Multi-Disciplinary colleagues to build compassionate care and wellbeing for our patients. Whilst we work closely with the MDT you are very much part of the wider Community Occupational Therapy Team too and our Service offers opportunities for induction and in-service training, and regular clinical and management supervision.
We are committed to evidence-based practice and use the MOHO Framework to inform assessment and intervention.
We also use other tools to support our interventions including ACDM, Talking Mats and Sensory Integration.
Main duties of the job
To work as a specialist clinician to utilise, develop and enhance Occupational Therapy clinical and professional skills within the Service to deliver high standards of practice.
To apply the Occupational Therapy process within a Multi-Disciplinary format providing specialist assessment and treatment in clinical care pathways.
To take a lead in developing the Service. This involves promoting high quality clinical practice and ensuring professional standards are maintained in the workplace.
To deliver a specialist Occupational Therapy Service to patients within a variety of settings, requiring flexibility/adaptability in recognising the complexity of these environments to maximise their abilities and opportunities for occupational wellbeing.
To conduct assessments, treatment planning, interventions, and evaluations.
To collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and external agencies.
To promote high-quality clinical practice and professional standards.
To demonstrate the Trusts values in everything you do in the work environment and live up to the LPT Pledge.
Main Responsibilities: Healthcare Delivery: Manage your caseload and prioritise clinical work. Work collaboratively with teams and agencies. Maintain accurate patient records and adhere to policies. Leadership & Communication: Communicate effectively with patients, families, and teams. Provide advice, training, and supervision to junior staff. Lead clinical case reviews and contribute to team development.
