The post holder will be part of the established B7 OT managing the Occupational Therapy service in MHSOP planned care. The successful applicant will be working alongside experienced OT leads to ensure that delivery of Occupational therapy to this client group is effective, efficient and safe. The planned care services for MHSOP are currently undergoing a transformation process involving substantial changes to service delivery. The post will have its focus around operationally managing the OT staff in the 8 neighbourhood teams in line with this transformation. This includes registered staff and OT assistants.
The OT service in MHSOP planned care is part of a multidisciplinary team providing service to older people with either functional or organic mental health conditions. The successful candidate will be working alongside this wider team to develop services in each of the neighbourhood areas.
The post holder will be involved in planning and implementing development of quality improvements in line with service needs. This will involve the collection and analysis of data in order to make informed decision about the development of the OT service
The post holder would be working across the city and the county and may work in any of the 8 planned care bases.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will have specialist knowledge and experience of both functional and Organic mental health conditions in older people, and act as the expert for the multi-agency team and for patients within this patient group.
The post holder will be responsible for supporting other members of the OT team with caseload management. Where the post holder has their own case load they will be responsible for managing this and ensuring safe effective treatment.
The post holder will be responsible for operational and line management of the MHSOP planned care OT team with a focus on the registered members of this team.
High level communication skills and negotiation will be necessary for delivering highly complex clinical and operational information to support both patients and staff.
To actively participate and lead in the development of quality improvements for service delivery in MHSOP OT planned care.
The post holder will need to have in depth experience and have attended formal advanced post registration study related to Occupational Therapy in MHSOP.
The post holder will be asked deputise for the Clinical/Service Lead as appropriate.
