An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Inpatient Occupational Therapy Team at the Bradgate Mental Health Unit, where we deliver high-quality, recovery-focused care. We are currently recruiting for a Band 3 Mental Health Occupational Therapy Assistant to support our busy and friendly Occupational Therapy service on the acute wards.
About the Role
As a Band 3 Occupational Therapy Assistant, you will work closely with our Band 5 and 6 Occupational Therapists, as well as other OT Assistants, to deliver both 1:1 and group-based therapeutic interventions. These will span a range of specialist and complex needs, supporting patients experiencing a deterioration in their mental health. Your work will focus on delivering structured Occupational Therapy programmes across a variety of pathways, including: Functional Physical Cognitive Sensory Psycho-Educational, Trauma Informed This role offers excellent opportunities for professional growth, and in-house training and a comprehensive induction will be provided.

We are seeking a motivated and compassionate individual who enjoys working as part of a multidisciplinary team. You should have excellent communication skills and a desire to contribute meaningfully to patients recovery journeys.
Main duties of the job
As a Band 3 Mental Health Occupational Therapy Assistant, you will play an essential role in delivering high-quality treatment programmes that support the recovery of adults of working age who experience severe and enduring mental health challenges. You will work under the guidance of Occupational Therapists and contribute to a diverse range of interventions, both individual and group based.
This is an excellent opportunity to demonstrate leadership by actively supporting patients' recovery journeys and working collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team (MDT), making a difference, together.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Delivering delegated therapeutic interventions with compassion and consistency.
Supporting patients to build skills, confidence, and independence through meaningful activity.
Demonstrating effective communication and teamwork with colleagues across the service.
Promoting the Trusts values and behaviours in your daily work with patients and colleagues.
Participating in service delivery across key Occupational Therapy pathways (Functional, Physical Health, Cognitive, Sensory, Psycho-Educational Trauma-informed).
