An exciting opportunity to join our team as part of our Early Language Support for Every Child (ELSEC) pathway as a bank post.
ELSEC is a pilot programme to help educational settings and parents to provide support for children aged 2-11 years old with speech, language and communication needs, (SLCN).
The focus will be upon supporting those children who have mild to moderate SLCN who do not meet the threshold for specialist support from the Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust, Speech and Language Therapy Team.
Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland are one of nine pathfinder pilot sites across England. This initiative is supported by the SEND Change Programme Partnership and Department for Education.

Main duties of the job
As part of this role, you will be delivering initial assessments of children in community settings, assessing their needs and making clinical decisions for next steps for their care.
You will also be supporting the development of our workforce, with mentoring opportunities to support Therapy Support Workers within the team in addition to supporting band 5 speech and language therapists.
There will be opportunities to lead on universal and targeted training to settings within LLR virtually and in person.
