Job summary
We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic Senior Nurse to take on the role of Home intervention Team (HIT) Lead and become part of the well-established CAMHS Eating Disorder Service.
This post is for a 12 month fixed term contract to cover maternity leave from August 2025 and is for 15 hours per week.
The role requires a driving license and access to a vehicle as the service operates in the community in family's homes and at the Leicester Royal Infirmary.
The HIT offer intensive intervention to young people and their families who are currently receiving support through our core eating disorders team.
The aims of the team are to prevent admission to inpatient care, facilitate early discharge from inpatient care, support patients with complex co-morbid needs and ensure safe and effective monitoring of patients who are deemed high risk due to their physical or psychological needs.
You will work within a diverse MDT alongside external stakeholders such a local paediatric teams in UHL. You will be integral in maintaining and promoting a compassionate, responsive, and enthusiastic team which is made up of Nurses, an Occupational Therapist and Assistant Practitioners.
The role will consist of many duties, including the clinical and operational supervision of the team, providing clinical oversight and ensuring a high quality and effective service is maintained.
You will be integral in leading on the HIT service development plans and connecting with wider stakeholders.
Main duties of the job
- To clinically lead and manage a multi disciplinary home intervention team in providing high quality and responsive treatment and care for young people and families impacted by an eating disorder, using clinically informed therapeutic models and established guidelines.
- To perform and monitor comprehensive assessments of clients/service users needs.
- Take continuous management responsibility for the delivery of care needs of young people with eating disorders in their homes and on paediatric wards.
- To lead on the continuing development of the home intervention team in providing and coordinating robust supervision, support, and CPD.
- To liaise with internal and external stakeholders and maintain a progressive vision for the team; to ensure a collaborative and close working relationship with the wider Eating Disorder Team.
- Responsible for effectively managing the financial resource, including budget management for the relevant service area, including alerting managers to resource issues and the effect of these on service delivery.
- To ensure robust processes and clinical governance is in place to uphold a quality, effective and safe service.
- To hold a small caseload of patients to support alignment with the evidence base and to support the cohesion of the core eating disorder service and HIT.
