Job summary

We currently have a fantastic opportunity for a full time Band 7 Clinical Lead Nurse to join our community Autism services covering the whole of Leicestershire, Leicester and Rutland.

The role will be split across 3 services - 0.6 WTE based within our Specialist Autism Team (SAT) providing support for service users aged 14years and above to understand their diagnosis, how it impacts on their lives and how their individual needs can be support.

There will be opportunities to work directly with service users as well as facilitating group workshops and liaising with colleagues across Health, Social Care, Education. The SAT is a multi disciplinary team and you will form part of the leadership team alongside colleagues from Occupational Therapy and Speech and Language Therapy Backgrounds.You will be required to provide line management to the Nursing team and will also support in the day to day decision making of the service.

0.4 WTE based within our Adult Autism Assessment Service (AAAS) undertaking Autism Assessments with service users aged 18years and above.

For this role you will be qualified and experienced in undertaking ADOS assessments both face to face and on occasion over MS Teams.

You will also provide support to the Teams Operational Manager and provide Supervision to staff as and when required. A background in either Mental Health or Learning Disability nursing will be advantageous to these roles.

Main duties of the job

  • To manage and take overall responsibility for care quality performance and clinical activity by providing professional nursing leadership and guidance, clinical advice and management in relation to the key dimensions of health care quality:Patient safety- The effectiveness of all health care interventions. Patient experience- The environment in which care is delivered.
  • To ensure the delivery of a clinically effective service which meets the needs of individuals, families and communities in line with local and national development plans, Trust policies and procedures.
  • To be responsible for the development of specialist care interventions and care plans.
  • To foster a culture of networking in an open and transparent approach with internal and external MDTs and between all stakeholders.
  • Perform and monitor comprehensive assessments of clients/service users needs.
  • Plan, implement and evaluate care delivery according to changing health care needs.
  • Take continuous management responsibility for the delivery of specialist care needs of individual and groups pf clients/services users.
  • Promote the involvement and engagement of clients/services users and carers/ relatives in the assessment, planning, delivery and evaluation of care.
