We are now seeking to recruit a Specialist Grade Doctor to join our Community Paediatrics team on a full time or part time basis. You will work in partnership with members of well-established multi-disciplinary team in the expanding work of locality based community paediatric teams.

You will already have a minimum of six years experience within Paediatrics in the Speciality Doctor and/or closed SAS grades, hold registration with the General Meical Council with a licence to pracitise.

Job Description Summary (Main duties and responsibilities)

We want a Specialty Doctor who can

• Deliver the highest quality of clinical care to our patents and carers

The post holder will be required to work in partnership to provide initial assessment and treatment initiation where appropriate of patients referred to the service. The post holder will need to ensure that people who use services, carers and advocates are treated with respect and dignity

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

• Qualifications:
• MB BS or equivalent medical qualification
• Eligibility:
• Fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practice at the time of appointment.
• Completed 12 years medical work since obtaining primary medical qualification of which a minimum of 6 years should have been within Paediatrics in the Specialty Doctor and/or closed SAS grades. Equivalent years experience in Paediatrics from other medical grades including from overseas will also be accepted.
• In good standing with GMC with respect to warning and conditions on practice

Desirable

• Qualifications:
• MRCPCH, DCH, MBA or other relevant diplomas
• Qualification or higher degree in medical education, clinical research or management

Experience

Essential

• Clinical Skills, Knowledge & Experience:
• Clinical expertise in Paediatrics / Community Paediatrics
• Experience of working as a senior, independent, autonomous practitioner
• Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
• Academic skills & Lifelong Learning:
• Participated in continuous professional development
• Able to use and appraise clinical evidence
• Has actively participated in clinical audit and quality improvement programmes
• Contractual requirements:
• Able to undertake work in the community and travel to LPT sites

Desirable

• Wide range of specialist and sub specialist experience within NHS or comparable service
• Evidence of achievement in education, research, audit and service improvement: awards, prizes, presentations, publications
• Has led clinical audits leading to service change or improved outcomes to patients
