An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic Band 7 Registered Professional to join the Mental Health Central Access Point based at Anstey Frith Building County Hall.
The Mental Health Central Access Point (MHCAP) aims to improve access to mental health services and provide mental health support and advice through the NHS 111 opt 2 line operated by recovery workers and telephone triage facilitated by Mental Health Practitioners. In addition MHCAP operates a 24/7 mental health text service, operated by recovery workers and overseen by clinicians.
The successful candidate will work closely with the team leads within the other pathways of Urgent Care, namely Crisis, The Hub, Place of Safety, Mental Health Liaison and Criminal Justice.
The team lead will rotate to cover the Duty role and have management shifts. The successful candidate will line manage Mental Health Practitioners and support these direct reports to line manage the recovery workers.
The Team Leads will manage any concerns, including staffing issues, incident reporting, capacity to triage or increased referrals resulting in breaches of waiting times. Any complex issues will be escalated to the team manager and/or service matron.
Main duties of the job
The duty team lead will give advice and support for complex clinical presentations.
The duty team lead will complete the daily SITREP (previous days 111, MHCAP, Emergency, Urgent and Routine Triages, Staffing escalation, General escalation on a standard proforma)
The duty team lead will also look at any outstanding triages that have breached and establish why this has happened, ensure that they are triaged and escalate via EIRF, and problem solve to find solutions to prevent breaches in the future.
At times of peak activity or staffing shortages there is an expectation that team leads will carry out clinical triages or co-ordinate.
The Team leads will monitor staffing levels, formulate the team roster, carry out investigations, investigate concerns and contact patients to resolve issues, complete audits, monitor and sign off incidents, ensure the team get regular supervision and lead on meetings where required. The successful candidate will also take an active role in recruitment and ensuring an optimum induction with successful competency level reached.
The role is dynamic and requires specialist assessment of risk, the Mental Health Central Access Point is a professional and diverse team to work with and will provide you with lots of experience across the acute sector.
