Job summary

Do you have a passion for supporting those that are at risk of developing a psychosis, working with them and their family / carers / support to identify concern at a very early stage and provide support, education, psychological treatment to either help avoid them developing or limit the negative impact should they develop a psychosis?

The PAUSE team (Psychological Awareness of Unusual and Sensory Experiences) is an example of an ARMS (At Risk Mental State) service and does exactly this, you will be working with people in the service for up to 2 years to provide the support they and there families need, the team accepts referrals from multiple primary and secondary mental services, you will hold a caseload typically of up to 15 people.

At present PAUSE is a relatively small team that consists of 10 staff, this position is the first of what we hope to be an expansion of the team and Early Intervention in Psychosis (EIP) teams within the trust.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will work as part of a team supporting those at risk of developing a psychosis, working as part of a Psychologically minded and led service and holding a caseload of service users (at present around 15 for a full time member of staff)

To help develop this new and exciting service and to expand the role of a band 6 within the team.

You must be an NMC Registered Mental Health or Learning Disability Nurse, Occupational Therapist of Social worker with the appropriate qualifications and registration to apply for this post.

You must also hold a full valid driving licence for use in the UK and have access to suitable vehicle.
