An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated Occupational Therapist to join our, innovative community based team working across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland as part of the Children's Therapy Team.
The Children's Occupational Therapy Service seeks to provide a high quality service to children, young people and their families in their home, school, nursery or clinic setting.
We have developed pathways within Early Years, Complex Disability and Physical Disability, with specialist interests in palliative care, neuromuscular conditions, hemiplegia and splinting. You will also have the support of a Clinical Professional Lead.
Main duties of the job
- To work as a specialist clinician to utilise, develop and enhance Occupational Therapy clinical and professional skills within the Service to deliver high standards of practice.
- To apply the Occupational Therapy process within a Multi-Disciplinary format providing specialist assessment and treatment in clinical care pathways.
- To take a lead in developing the Service. This involves promoting high quality clinical practice and ensuring professional standards are maintained in the workplace.
- To deliver a specialist Occupational Therapy Service to patients within a variety of settings, requiring flexibility/adaptability in recognising the complexity of these environments to maximise their abilities and opportunities for occupational wellbeing.
As part of this role, you will be encouraged to develop up to two specialist areas and be involved with sharing your knowledge in a teaching capacity to the rest of the team.
Car owner/driver essential as it is unlikely that public transport will meet the needs of this job.
