We have an excellent opportunity for experienced Health Care Assistants to join our team within the Mental Health Service for Older people (MHSOP). The role of the Health Care Assistantwill be to work as part of the nursing team and support people through their recovery with both their physical health and their mental health needs.

Based on the Leicester General Hospital site, the Evington Centre has 2 mental health wards: Gwendolen Ward (Male Patients) and Coleman Ward (Female Patients).

Both wards are a 19 bedded unit, caring for patients mainly over the age of 65, living with Dementia. The ward also cares for patients who have enduring mental health illnesses such as Anxiety, Depression, Schizophrenia, Bi-Polar or Parkinson's.

The ideal candidate will have experience of working within a healthcare setting, excellent communication skills and passionate about providing great care to patients.

Main duties of the job

Please note that the Healthcare Assistants work a rota system of Long Days (12 hr shifts) Day and Night covering a 7-day working week.

We can offer Part time and Full time posts, however the minimum you will be required to work is 23 hours per week.

These are also permanent roles not bank roles and candidates will require their own right to work in the UK as we are unable to offer sponsorship.
