Job summary

We are looking for an experienced nurse to lead on the development of Learning and Development plans and strategies across Community Health Services.

This is both a leadership and educator role; you'll need to be an experienced clinician with a management style that leads and inspires a team with an excellent reputation to continue to provide high quality education and be creative to meet needs both internally and externally. You will -

  • Work in collaboration with senior clinical colleagues to ensure our clinical workforce is equipped with the necessary skills to provide safe and effective care to our patients.
  • Oversee the delivery of the annual training and development plans, offering a broad range of learning techniques and development opportunities.
  • Lead the International Educated Nurse programme within CHS, working closely with the LPT Head of International Recruitment.
  • Support the creation of a workforce where diversity is visible and valued at all levels ensuring education, learning and development is easily accessible.
  • Develop relationships with local universities and colleges to build links for partnership working.
  • Deliver learning & development activity, including training sessions & workshops.
  • Line manage the Clinical Education Team members.
  • In conjunction with clinical leads will audit the educational programme on an annual basis.

Main duties of the job

Support talent management and succession planning that offers effective staff development and ensures long term business continuity.

Be visible to staff at all levels, providing motivational leadership and support.

In conjunction with Matrons and Sister/Charge Nurses take the lead responsibility for education/training elements of performance management and workforce planning.

Facilitate a structure and mechanism for clinical supervision and act also as a clinical supervisor.

Lead and implement CHS and Trust education and training strategies.

In conjunction with senior colleagues, lead clinical practice initiatives, staff education and professional development.

Support multi professional and interprofessional learning.

In conjunction with the senior colleagues lead policy development, supporting change, innovation and new ways of working.

Work in partnership with clinical colleagues to identify relevant education and training needs through the KSF and PDP processes.

Work collaboratively with local Universities/Higher Education Institutions and other training providers to ensure the delivery of the highest standards of both pre and post registration education and training.

Act as a clinical and professional resource for the MDT, patients and service users.

Work clinically alongside registered and non- registered staff promoting and delivering education, practice and the implementation of policies ensuring a workforce fit for purpose and practice.
