Job summary

We are currently looking to recruit a Senior HR Advisor to join the HR Advisory Team to provide HR support and advice.

Working within the HR Advisory Team, the Senior HR Advisor acts as the first line of HR advice and support to our managers and staff. With designated service areas, you will manage your own caseload, spanning the full range of employee relations issues.

We work in a blended way from our base at County Hall, from home and you will be required to join meetings in person on our sites as needed.

You will have experience of providing HR advice and guidance that draws upon your up-to-date knowledge of HR best practice and employment legislation. As an HR professional, you will proactively seek out opportunities to develop your professional practice.

You will enjoy working as part of a team and working together to provide a compassionate people first response to queries and concerns.

Main duties of the job

A key role within our team, the Senior HR Advisor will contribute to the ongoing development and delivery of a professional HR service.

You will be responsible for managing a complex employee relations case load including sickness absence management, disciplinary, grievance and bullying and harassment cases, working in a fast paced environment, working closely with managers and taking a lead on specific policy development and projects.

  • CIPD qualified/equivalent CIPD accredited HR qualification or working towards it.

Experience

Essential

  • Well developed, knowledge of current human resources practice and employment law.
  • Developed interpersonal skills able to quickly achieve professional and personal credibility through deployment of influencing, persuasion skills and achieve results.
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills, including the ability to produce reports that are clear, concise and outcome oriented.
  • Strong team player and able to facilitate effective team working for others.
  • Strong commitment to the development of a customer focused approach in delivering HR solutions.
  • Strong time management and able to prioritise and meet deadlines.
