Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a 8a Team Manager post for the Mental Health Central Access Point (MHCAP) within the Urgent Care Pathway, Directorate of Mental Health, Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust.

The successful post holder will have operational responsibilities and demonstrate strong leadership skills to support and drive the team forward within this fast developing service.

The successful applicant will provide visible daily leadership and supervision to a team of multi disciplinary staff and will work to ensure that the service provided is of high quality.

The MHCAP provides a 24/7 telephone access for urgent mental health support. MHCAP links callers with the voluntary sector staff and clinical staff who can assess their needs and advise, support, signpost or refer directly to the appropriate service. It offers an alternative to attending the emergency department and other services for people with urgent mental health needs.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be accountable for the operational performance and the strategic development of the service area within the Division. This will include accountability for the delivery of high quality clinical care, clinical governance, patient safety, clinical quality, and delivery of Cost Improvement Programmes (CIPs).

The post holder will have overall responsibility for leadership and delegated responsibility for the day to day operational management of the designated multi disciplinary team within the post holders portfolio

The post holder will provide professional leadership and development to the designated Service Teams within the post holders portfolio.

They will act as an effective role model and demonstrate personal commitment to continuous improvement

The post holder will take responsibility for the leadership and supervision within the designated team and to actively engage with both managerial and clinical supervision relevant to the post.

The post holder lead, provide and support an effective quality service that is defined by national and local quality indicators.
