Job summary
The Healthy Together Helpline have an exciting opportunity for enthusiastic and motivated Public Health Nurses (SCPHN) to work within the Healthy Together Helpline. The Helpline is a single point of access telephone Helpline for Health Visiting and School Nursing services across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland and is critical to the effective functioning of the whole service. The Helpline provides excellent customer service providing equal access for all.
The Helpline is a busy and fast paced environment. As an experienced Public Health Nurse, you will be using your clinical skills and knowledge to manage and respond to the myriad of incoming calls to the Healthy Together service. We are looking for compassionate, respectful and caring staff who can delivering a responsive service to our diverse population. You will need to be flexible in your approach as the helpline continues to evolve and develop.
You must have NMC registration and a Specialist Community Public Health Nursing qualification. The service is open from 9-4.30 Monday to Friday and staff will be required to work hours to cover the service on these days. The roles will be a mixture of working from base and agile working.
For this role you must have your own Transport or suitable alternative. Public transport is not suitable for this role.
Main duties of the job
- To deliver evidence based advice and support to service users over the telephone supporting the delivery of the Healthy Child Programme
- To actively contribute to the improvement of service and quality of care provision to meet the needs of patients, service users and their families.
- Work collaboratively and ensure maintenance of effective partnership communication with other professionals, agencies and stakeholders.
- Demonstrate a high standard of professional practice
- Attendance at multi agency meetings and sharing of information
- To foster a culture of networking in an open and transparent approach with internal and external partnerships and between all stakeholders.
- To participate in the effective clinical leadership and management of the team
- Support students and learners within practice, providing opportunities for learning and development
