Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity for a Registered Mental Health Nurse, Occupational Therapist, or other suitably qualified healthcare professional to come and work with us as a member of our Adult Eating Disorders Outpatient team.
The post is based at Forest Grange Outpatients, Bennion Centre, Leicester.
We are a highly specialised team providing psychological interventions for outpatients suffering from anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa or binge eating disorder.
Our team supports adults who have an eating disorder, providing individual care plans for recovery through evidence-based interventions and strong therapeutic relationships.
Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team helps your patients achieve their individual recovery goals.
The care provided can be both physical & psychological as our patients may need help with working on weight restoration, reducing compensatory behaviours or regularising their eating and need support with managing the mental challenges this can bring.
Experience of working with people with an eating disorder will be a particular strength for the right candidate. However, we are able to offer opportunities for with those with limited experience in a developmental role.
You will be experienced in offering individual or group psychotherapy for patients and will have worked in a mental health setting, either inpatient, outpatient or community, to deliver this treatment.
The Band 6 Therapist role is challenging but intensely rewarding.
Main duties of the job
The role of the Band 6 Therapist involves managing your own caseloads, providing assessments, care plans, risk assessments and reviews as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
A good understanding of some of the physical and psychological risks experienced by our patients will be helpful and you will be supported with this alongside training and development opportunities relevant to your role and equipping you with specialist skills.

You will take part in regular clinical supervision, either group and individual, to support your practice and regular team meetings for effective communication.
