Job summary
Exciting opportunities have arisen in various sites across Leicester City to join our Healthy Together School Nursing team as a Band 6 Specialist Community Public Health Nurse working with children and young people aged 5-19. We are offering full and part time positions.

School nursing offers a range of services to meet the varying needs of the local population, which includes our well-developed digital offer. This includes the award winning Chat Health text messaging service, which is available to all parents, as well as young people in Leicester City.
You must have a NMC registration in any branch of nursing and a Specialist Community Public Health Nursing (SCPHN) School Nursing registration. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a warm, respectful, caring, and compassionate approach to delivering a flexible and responsive service for our diverse and continually evolving health needs of our population.

Main duties of the job
- To deliver Evidence Based healthcare, maintaining a high standard of professional practice.
- Lead and deliver the Healthy Child Programme, within a multi-agency team setting.
- Be responsible for the identification, assessment, and management of health care needs of individuals, families, groups, and communities within a defined caseload, and for the development, implementation, and evaluation of programmes of care within a range of targeted groups.
- Provide delegated management responsibility to the Healthy Child Programme Practitioners and Healthy Child Programme Nurses.
- Mentor pre and post registration students, and new members of staff as required, and support induction programmes.
You must have a full driving license that allows you to drive in the UK and the use of a car for this role. LPT operate 2 car schemes Car Leasing and Car Salary sacrifice subject to meeting the acceptance criteria. If you already hold a lease car through another NHS employer you may be able to transfer the vehicle to LPT.
