Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity for enthusiastic, flexible and committed Band 3 Technical Instructor to join our existing LLR Falls Prevention Service. This post will be based in the East of Leicestershire covering the areas of Melton, Rutland and Market Harborough.
The team provides patients with specialist falls assessment and rehabilitation in both community and outpatient settings either on a 1-1 basis or in groups. This involves working with patients in their own homes, outpatient departments and other community venues. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team which includes Consultant Geriatricians, Nurses and Therapists.
This post requires experience working with patients who are at risk of falls. Experience working in the community would also be desirable. Excellent organisation, communication and team working skills are required for this position.
If you are enthusiastic, self-motivated and dynamic we look forward to hearing from you. This is a great opportunity to join a Falls Prevention Service which is expanding its role in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.
Main duties of the job
The role involves the delivery of community rehabilitation for patients who have fallen or are at risk of falling. This role includes working with Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists in carrying out group exercise and education classes. You will also be involved in seeing patients in their own homes and following treatment plans set by one of the falls therapy team. This will involve delivering home exercise programmes (HEP) or reviewing equipment that has been ordered. You will also work closely with the Therapists in updating those treatment plans and helping to progress patients through their rehabilitation.
