Job summary

We are excited to offer this new-to-CAMHS service development role which will be of interest to experienced and passionate practitioners from a wide range of backgrounds. This post is for 32 hours per week (0.8 WTE).

You will work with senior leaders/partners transforming existing CAMH services playing a key role in holding CAMHS to account whilst informing & facilitating learning and development across the service.

There will be opportunities to influence system-level change alongside community stakeholders & young people seldom seen within CAMHS.

Practitioners who value working collaboratively to advance health equity and who strive to support LPT CAMHS to become an exemplar of best practice will thrive within this role.

Focusing on communities facing marginalisation across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland, you will seek to improve CAMHS services from the perspective of children & young people facing mental health distress who require but are not currently accessing CAMH level services.

As a subject matter expert, your personal and professional experience and knowledge will be crucial to driving this role forward though you will receive solidarity and support from existing leaders/groups working within CAMHS/LPT including CAMHS Race Equity Group, EDI leaders, Patient Involvement services & Data Analysts.

Candidates who demonstrate breadth/depth of skill set equivalent to Masters level or beyond are strongly encouraged to apply regardless of qualifications achieved.

Main duties of the job

You will provide advice, support, consultation and critique to our leadership team, feeding into multiple improvement workstreams.

As a subject matter expert, your existing knowledge & skills will support service development whilst working collaboratively with local communities to ensure the needs and perspectives of seldom heard groups are embedded into improvement plans.

You will work alongside existing partners whilst developing new partnerships with stakeholders, reaching out directly to communities facing long-standing barriers in accessing mental health services.

You will identify priority communities/areas of need, advising on service development opportunities alongside the identified communities themselves.

You will create local information resources and community stakeholder maps to embed sustainable community participation processes into the day-to-day running/development of CAMHS. You will maintain a database of your work and, alongside data analyst colleagues, ensure CAMHS are utilising community demographic sets capable of supporting health equity improvement work.

You will provide day-to-day management and clinical supervision to a small number of colleagues as required. You will also contribute to the training of new and existing members of staff to improve workforce knowledge/understanding of factors impacting and arising from marginalisation in relation to mental health.

Please note that interviews for short-listed candidates will be held on the 14th and 17th May.
