Job summary
Exciting opportunities within Leicester City for Band 5 Occupational Therapists.
Due to internal promotions we have 2 opportunities for Band 5 OTs to join us working with our physical health teams in the city. We have a static post available based on our sub acute physical health rehabilitation wards based at the Evington Centre. Our second post is a rotational post with 9 months on sub acute physical health rehabilitation wards at Evington centre and 9 months with our Home First and Community therapy service. There are plans to develop this rotation in the future to include other areas.
We are looking for people who possess a professional approach, good communication and problem-solving skills, and have a positive approach to multidisciplinary team working and person-centred care.
Skills developed will support your growth as a clinician and enable you to widen your scope of practice. In both posts you would be working as part of a large MDT with support, training and regular supervision provided.
Within LPT we have a Preceptorship programme for your first year after qualifying. We also have lots of opportunities to support research and Quality Improvement projects.
Please note: we will close the advert when we have received sufficient applications, so please get your application in as soon as possible.
Main duties of the job
These posts would give you the opportunity to gain a variety of clinical skills in physical rehabilitation and community settings.
In the inpatient setting you will be supporting the discharge of patients and flow within the system and using your Occupational Therapy skills and knowledge to improve the outcomes for our patients. The successful post holder will be working as part of a Multi-Disciplinary Team and will be joining established, supportive and welcoming teams of Occupational Therapists.
In the community you would be responsible for providing a professional OT service and carrying an agreed caseload under the supervision of senior staff. You will apply the OT process within an MDT format and deliver an OT service to patients within a variety of settings, requiring flexibility/adaptability in recognising the complexity of these environments.
If you are a newly qualified member of staff, an international recruit or returning to practice we provide a structured AHP Preceptorship programme alongside regular supervision and appraisal as well as opportunities to attend in-service training.
Rotational posts are for 9 months each and shift patterns differ for each rotation with the Community Therapy team providing a 7-day service. Static posts are currently Monday - Friday. Rotational posts require you to have your own car and the Trust does have Lease car schemes that can be accessed. Static posts do not need you to be a car driver for the role.
