Job summary
We are seeking nurse specialist posts to join our large team of Paediatricians, specialist nurses, speech and language therapists and clinical psychologists, working in a strong multi-disciplinary setting delivering services for young people and their families / carers in Leicestershire.
The role will include training to become a non-medical prescriber, to facilitate and support our existing team of prescribers to enhance the service we provide to patients and their families with ADHD.
This is an exciting opportunity for enthusiastic and ambitious nurses, with knowledge, interest, and skills in neuro-developmental conditions to join our team as we are expanding our services, to enhance the neuro-developmental pathway for assessment and treatment.
We require more nurse specialists to take a key role in supporting the delivery of continued on-going management of children with ADHD. This will include medication reviews, psychoeducation, holistic care, sign posting and referrals to appropriate services.
As well as working with the paediatricians you will be working in the nurse led clinic and your clear communication skills will help in the liaison and education role about ADHD with our multiagency partners.

Main duties of the job
The main duties include:
- Review and management of ADHD in a clinic setting, which will include medication management and psycho-education around ADHD.
- Liaison with other professionals, education and social services.
- Completion of school observations, as part of the assessment pathway.
- Duty desk - manage incoming queries around ADHD and prescription requests.
- Supervision of junior staff.
- Safeguarding responsibilities.
