Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity in the Nutrition and Dietetic Service for an enthusiastic support worker who is keen to develop their skills in nutrition care. This is a permanent, full time post.The post holders will be based within the Primary Care Team within Nutrition and Dietetics.

This post will work closely with Dietitians and other Dietetic Assistant Practioners to support the team working in Community Hospitals across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland

You will join the existing team working closely with the multidisciplinary team in the Community Health Services Directorate to ensure high quality nutrition care is delivered by the whole team through arranging educational sessions, delivery of group sessions.

The Dietetic Service (Community) has a team of approximately 70 staff working in primary care, mental health, public health and home enteral nutrition and is made up of dietitians, community nutritionists, dietetic support workers and support team staff covering the population of LLR.

We are looking for an individual with excellent communication skills and an ability to manage own workload.

Main duties of the job

We are seeking a dedicated, innovative and highly organised individual to join our growing and experienced team.

You will support the Dietetic team in working in the Community Hospitals providing a service to the wards. As a Dietetic Support Worker you will support the dietetic team to provide a service to inpatients assisting both the Dietitians and Dietetic Assistant Practioners with the delivery of individual dietetic care plans and staff education programmes.

You will be part of a highly regarded and friendly dietetic team which is currently going through a period of expansion due to additional investment.

The team is currently supported by 2 Dietetic Assistant Practitioners. Dietitians and a Dietetic Team Leader.

This role will include working within a multi-disciplinary team. The role supports the education of both staff, patients and carers and ongoing monitoring to promote nutrition within this population group
