Job summary

Leicestershire Partnership Trust is now seeking an enthusiastic individual with suitable experience to join their specialist Huntingtons Disease Physiotherapy service. The post will be based at our inpatient Huntingtons disease unit in Narborough and will involve inpatient work and community work.

The role would demand sensitivity, flexibility, patience, concentration and an interest in working with this client group. You would be required to work effectively with a multi professional team, have good communication skills and be able to hone the trusts Leadership Behaviours.

The expectation from a successful candidate is that they would be able to work using their own initiative and prioritise their own workload. There will be many opportunities for CPD within the trust as well as ongoing professional support and you will receive clinical and managerial supervision from the Physiotherapy Clinical Team Leader.

Main duties of the job

The role demands working as part of a small multi-disciplinary team providing specialist physiotherapy assessments and interventions to inpatients and community patients. Your assessments and interventions would be based across 2 defined physiotherapy pathways:

Balance and mobility early mid stage HD

Posture management mid-late stage and end stage HD.

Knowledge around falls prevention and management is essential. Knowledge of issues regarding specialist seating and postural management would be considered an advantage.
