Leicestershire Partnership Trust (LPT) are looking for someone to join their Employment Support Service Team as an Employment Specialist (ES).
As part of this role you will be embedded within an existing mental health team within Leicester, Leicestershire or Rutland. ES's manage a caseload of service users who are open to Mental Health services and are experiencing barriers to employment. The ES will be responsible for building relationships and securing contacts with employers, promoting employment of service users and establishing suitable employment opportunities for them. This incredible Service has been growing consistently since 2011 (it joined LPT in 2019) to help many people into sustained employment and ensures the link between the service users being in work and achieving improved health outcomes.
We are looking for someone who has experience and training in either healthcare or employment and has some knowledge of employment and disability related benefits as well as policies and legislation. Ideally, you'll have worked with people who have mental health problems before and have a compassionate and understanding attitude with a drive to help people.
Please note, the base shown on the advert is the trust head office and not the base where you will be working. Your team preference will be a consideration in where you are placed, although this cannot be guaranteed.
Main duties of the job
The role will include working with people that are accessing mental health services, that have identified they would like help with gaining paid employment, you will be holding a caseload of around 20 people.
We will provide all relevant training needed for you to be able to complete your role, we also have experienced members of staff to help support and guide you.
