We are looking for Band 6 Occupational Therapists to join the Community Integrated Neurology and Stroke Service (CINSS).

CINSS was established in 2016 as part of the Better Care Together Initiative and strives to provide specialist integrated care to patients in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland. The team continues to evolve and provides varied exciting opportunities to develop the service further, both clinically and organisationally. The successful candidate will join a specialist multi-disciplinary team comprising of Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Dieticians, Neuropsychologist, Rehabilitation Consultant and Generic Rehabilitation Technical Instructors.

Main duties of the job

The team provides specialist neuro-rehabilitation in Community and Outpatient settings to people with a wide range of neurological conditions and stroke. This post requires a dedicated autonomous OT with relevant clinical experience in Neurology and/or Stroke rehabilitation. Previous Community experience is advantageous but not essential.

The successful candidate will be required to manage a caseload in a busy environment with senior and multidisciplinary support available. Excellent organisational, communication and team working skills are required, along with the ability to support/develop other members within the team. Rotation into the Discharge to Assess/3 day Response and outpatient clinic CINSS offer of service forms part of the role.

The post is for one fulltime band 6 Occupational Therapist working 37.5hrs per week (part time working hours will also be considered). If you are short-listed you will be invited to undertake an interview on 31.10.2023.

This is a community post therefore driving and access to a vehicle for work purposes with business class insurance is essential.

The CINSS team hub is at Braunstone Health and Social Care Centre, with spoke bases across the LLR geographical areas. Negotiation of base (as detailed on the advert) in the East of Leicestershire will be discussed with the successful candidate.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

To work flexibly and in partnership with the multidisciplinary team, to provide aholistic approach in meeting the needs of patients and the service.

To work within an advisory capacity as appropriate within the post andskills/experience of post holder in order to inform others (services, family, carers,agencies) regarding patient needs.

To delegate workload effectively to other team members.

To provide support to the management of the therapy team as delegated by andagreed with the Team/Clinical/Operational Lead and to be responsible for thesupervisory management of relevant clinical staff including the implementationand monitoring of appraisals and identification of continuous professionaldevelopment.

To keep other members of the Multi-Disciplinary Team aware of developmentswithin the therapy service.

Continuing Education, Professional and Personal Development:

Undertake the Trusts corporate and local induction, and maintain your learningand compliance with training requirements for your role.

Participate in supervision via agreed review and appraisal mechanisms.

It is mandatory for all professionally qualified staff and clinical support staff toactively participate in clinical/managerial/safeguarding supervision as an integralpart of their professional development.

To initiate new ideas and modern working practices for development within the Service and to improve the quality standards of care through the use of evidencebased practice and outcomes for all patients.
