We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Band 6 Respiratory Practitioner to join our expanding community Respiratory service as a permanent, full or part time member within our friendly and integrated team in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.

Main duties of the job

Respiratory Practitioners are expected to work autonomously to assess, diagnose and treat patients with Asthma and COPD. The position involves running community based COPD clinics in local health centres and community hospitals and also carrying out home visits for patients unable to leave their house. This will involve seeing patients in the stable phase of their COPD and also patients who are acutely unwell.

The service utilises a digital telehealth service to support COPD patients to aide their self management. The service is also delivering Asthma, COPD and Covid-19 virtual ward monitoring using digital technology to monitor and support patients following their discharge from hospital.

The successful applicant will work within a multi-disciplinary team and be supported by the Team Lead for the respiratory service and also other respiratory specialist clinicians. The Respiratory team covers a 7 day service. The post will involve travel across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland to provide clinics and home visits.
