Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated, enthusiastic Band 7 Respiratory Specialist Clinician to join our well established community Respiratory Service. This post is open to Nurses and Allied Health Professionals with respiratory experience.
Main duties of the job
Respiratory Specialist Clinicians are expected to work autonomously to assess, diagnose and treat patients with Asthma and COPD. The position involves running community based COPD clinics in local health centres and community hospitals and also carrying out home visits for patients unable to leave their house. This will involve seeing patients in the stable phase of their COPD and also patients who are acutely unwell. The role will also include providing clinical supervision within the team and participating and delivering education sessions across GP practices and PLT events.
The service utilises a digital telehealth service to support COPD patients to aide their self management. The service also delivers Asthma, COPD and Covid-19 virtual ward monitoring using digital technology to monitor and support patients following their discharge from hospital.
The successful applicant will work within a multi-disciplinary team and be supported by the Team Lead for the respiratory service and also other respiratory specialist clinicians. The Respiratory team covers a 7 day service. The post will involve travel across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland to provide clinics and home visits.
